Syliva Barnes, Head of Energy Investment Banking and Managing Director, Madison Williams and Company

Ms. Barnes is Head of Energy Investment Banking and a Managing Director at Madison Williams and Company. She joined the firm in April 2009 and has over 20 years of financial experience and a background in engineering.
Prior to joining MadisonWilliams, Ms. Barnes served as Managing Director at Merrill Lynch & Co.'s investment banking energy practice. She joined Merrill Lynch as part of the firms 2006 acquisition of Petrie Parkman & Co. During the six years Ms. Barnes was at Petrie Parkman and Merrill Lynch, she successfully executed a variety of merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions for energy clients, advised on public and private equity offerings and structured and placed private debt and equity. Prior to joining Petrie Parkman, Ms. Barnes was with Enron Energy Services as Vice President, responsible for executing energy management contracts with large industrial clients, including refineries and chemical companies. From 1994 through 2000, Ms. Barnes worked as Senior Vice President for Nesbitt Burns Securities in New York and Houston, serving as head of the firm's US energy investment banking group. From 1984 through 1993, Ms. Barnes worked for Bank of Montreal in New York and Calgary, specializing in structured finance and corporate banking for energy clients.

G. Lance Binder, Executive Vice President, Netherland, Sewell & Associates Inc.

Lance Binder, executive vice president of Netherland, Sewell & Associates Inc., joined the firm in 1983 after working as a supervising engineer for Exxon Co. USA. His areas of specific expertise include the Arkoma Basin, East Texas tight gas sands, Michigan's Niagaran Reef Trend and Antrim Shale, the Louisiana Gulf Coast, Permian Basin and the Gulf of Mexico. Binder holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.

Michael D. Bodino, Managing Director and Head of Energy Research, Global Hunter Securities LLC

Covering E&Ps for two decades, Michael Bodino is managing director and head of energy research for Global Hunter Securities LLC. Previously, he was co-head of research and senior E&P analyst with Madison Williams and Co., and director of research for its predecessor, SMH Capital; a partner and senior E&P research analyst at Coker & Palmer, a Jackson, Miss.-based brokerage firm; responsible for E&P research at Sterne Agee; and a director of Hibernia Southcoast Capital’s energy investment-banking activities. He has also worked as a senior E&P investment analyst at San Jacinto Securities Inc., and in the research department of Rauscher Pierce Refsnes Inc., where his focus was both E&P and oilfield services. Bodino received his B.S. degree from Louisiana State University at Shreveport and an MBA from Texas Christian University.

Ted Collins Jr., Chairman and CEO, Patriot Resources Partners LLC, and Co-Founder, Collins & Ware Inc.

Longtime West Texas wildcatter Ted Collins Jr. is chairman and chief executive officer of Patriot Resources Partners LLC and is on the boards of CLL Global Research Foundation, Energy Transfer Group LP and Oasis Petroleum Inc. He began his career in 1960 as a petroleum engineer with Pan American Petroleum Corp. and became an independent oil operator in 1963. He joined American Quasar Petroleum Co. as executive vice president in 1969 until 1982, when he became president of Enron Oil & Gas Co., whose predecessor companies were HNG Oil Co. and HNG/InterNorth Exploration and which is now known as EOG Resources Inc. Collins left Enron in 1988 to co-found Collins & Ware Inc., which grew in 12 years to more than 1 trillion cubic feet of proven reserves in the Permian Basin, South Texas and Rockies and sold the majority of its assets to Apache Corp. in 2000. From 2000-06, he was president of Collins & Ware Investments Co. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He was awarded the American Association of Professional Landmen’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 and inducted into the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum’s Hall of Fame in 2009.

Joe B. Foster, Chairman, TPH Partners, and Founder, Newfield Exploration Co.

Joe B. Foster, chairman of private-equity investment firm TPH Partners, founded Newfield Exploration Co. in 1989 and was its chairman and chief executive officer until retiring in 2005. Previously, he was chairman of Tenneco Oil Co. and executive vice president and director of its parent, Tenneco Inc. During 2000, he was interim chairman, president and chief executive officer of Baker Hughes Inc. while the company searched for a new chief executive, and, in 2001-02, he was independent trustee for a large portion of Texaco's refining and marketing assets, which were required to be divested in the course of the Chevron-Texaco merger. He has also served as chairman of the National Petroleum Council, an advisory body to the U.S. Secretary of Energy, and, in 2006, he was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame. Currently, he is on the board of Storm Peak Energy LLC. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Petroleum Engineering and a BBA in General Business. His career is chronicled in the 2011 book "Something from Nothing: Joe B. Foster and the People Who Built Newfield Exploration Company" by Art Smith, the former chairman and CEO of energy-research firm John S. Herold Inc.

Jon Goddard, Senior Vice President, A&D, Global Oil & Gas Group, Macquarie Tristone

Jon Goddard, senior vice president, A&D, within Macquarie Tristone's global oil and gas group, joined the firm in 2007 as part of Tristone Capital, which Macquarie acquired in 2009. Prior to joining Tristone, he was a senior vice president in Friedman Billings Ramsey’s energy investment-banking group where he was involved in originating and executing more than $2 billion in public and private capital-markets and advisory transactions for E&P, midstream and alternative energy clients. Previously, he worked in the energy investment-banking group at CIBC World Markets, where he was involved in multiple equity, debt and advisory assignments for the E&P, oilfield-services and midstream sectors.

Jack F. Harper, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff, Concho Resources Inc.

Jack Harper, senior vice president and chief of staff for Concho Resources Inc., was previously vice president, business development and capital markets, for the West Texas-focused company. Prior to joining Concho in 2006, Harper was with Pure Resources Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Unocal Corp., in a number of capacities, including manager of planning and evaluation and manager of business development, and was with Tom Brown Inc., where his last position was vice president, investor relations, corporate development and treasurer. He is a graduate of Baylor University with a BBA in Finance.

Steve Herod, Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, Petrohawk Energy Corp.

Steve Herod is executive vice president, corporate development, and assistant secretary for Petrohawk Energy Corp. since 2005. He was named vice president, corporate development, in 2004 and was with Petrohawk's predecessor, PHawk LLC, from its formation in 2003. Previously, he held roles as executive vice president of corporate development, director, assistant secretary and treasurer for Petrohawk founder Floyd Wilson's 3Tec Energy Corp. from 1997-2003. He was president and director of Shore Oil Co. from 1992 until its merger with a 3Tec predecessor in 1997. Previously, Herod held various financial-management positions at Conquest Exploration Co. from 1984-1991 and was a financial analyst at Superior Oil Co. from 1981-1984. He has a bachelor's degree in finance and management from Oklahoma State University.

Forrest Hoglund, Chairman & CEO, SeaOne Maritime Corp.; formerly, Chairman, EOG Resources Inc.

Forrest Hoglund, chairman and chief executive officer of SeaOne Maritime Corp., an LNG transportation company, has had a distinguished career in the E&P industry, including as non-executive chairman of Forest Oil Corp. from 2003-2008 and as chairman of EOG Resources Inc. from 1987-1999, leading its spinout from Enron Corp. into an independent public company. He also recently was chairman and CEO of Arctic Resources Co. Ltd., a gas pipeline company. He began his career in 1956 with Humble Oil Co., which became Exxon Corp. where he was vice president of natural gas until 1977, and was president and CEO of Texas Oil & Gas Corp. until its sale in 1987 to U.S. Steel Corp. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Kansas and served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is chairman of the Hoglund Foundation, which provides educational, medical and social grants in Houston and Dallas, and is a past chairman of the Board of Visitors of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and co-chairman of the “KU First” Capital Campaign, which raised more than $650 million.

Ramona Hovey, Senior Vice President, Analysis and Consulting, DrillingInfo Inc.

Ramona Hovey is senior vice president, analysis and consulting, for DrillingInfo Inc., which she joined in 2002 and has served in a variety of roles through the company’s growth, including senior vice president, product management. In her current capacity, Hovey directs a team of industry and data analysts who provide insights into trends and opportunities in unconventional plays. Hovey received her B.S. in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1989 and worked for Arco Oil & Gas as a drilling engineer and for Vastar Gas Marketing as a natural gas trader. She serves on Texas A&M's Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering's Petroleum Engineering Industry Board.

Nancy Kerby, Principal and Co-Owner, Terra Firma Ventures, LLC

Nancy Kerby has been active in oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures since 1986.  Prior to the merger of her consulting firm with Terra Firma in 2002, she held positions including Director of Acquisitions for Unocal lower 48, Acquisitions Manager for RAMCO Oil & Gas Company, Director of Investor Relations with Plains Resources, and District Land Manager with NERCO Oil & Gas Co. Terra Firma Ventures provides quality land services to the energy industry in mergers, acquisitions & divestitures, title due diligence, process design, data cleansing and transfer, special projects and outsource land services. Since its inception, the company has participated in over twelve billion dollars of transactions located in most hydrocarbon-producing basins of the US, including shale plays such as the Marcellus, Bakken, Niobrara, Eagle Ford and Utica, as well as US offshore and Canada. Ms. Kerby is a member of Houston Producer’s Forum, American Association of Professional Landmen, and Houston Association of Professional Landmen, among other local and national professional associations. She is a certified professional landman with a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Randy King, Managing Director, BofA Merrill Lynch

Randy King joined Merrill Lynch in 2006 upon the merger of energy investment-banking firm Petrie Parkman & Co., with which he was extensively involved in all of the divestitures and many of the merger transactions closed by the firm since 1989, including the 1998 sale of the U.S.' Naval Petroleum Reserve (Elk Hills). Previously, he was a vice president with reservoir-analysis and -consulting firm Netherland, Sewell & Associates since 1981 and held several management and engineering positions with Exxon Co. U.S.A. in production and corporate planning. King received his B.S. (honors) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alabama in 1976.

E. Murphy Markham IV, Partner, EnCap Investments LLC

Prior to joining EnCap Investments LLC as a partner in 2006, Murphy Markham was managing director and group head of JPMorganChase’s oil and gas finance group.  Prior to the merger of JPMorgan and Bank One, Markham ran Bank One’s oil and gas group. He started his banking career with Republic Bank in 1981 and remained with the bank and its ultimate successor, Bank of America, for 22 years, as a managing director in its energy-banking group. Markham has a BBA in Finance from Texas Tech University and an MBA in Accounting from the University of Houston. He serves on the boards of the IPAA, the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States and the Dallas Petroleum Club Wildcat Committee. He is an active member of the Dallas and Fort Worth Wildcatters and ADAM Energy Forum, and serves on the boards of several EnCap portfolio companies.

Bill Marko, Managing Director, Energy Investment Banking, Jefferies & Co. Inc.

William (Bill) Marko is a managing director of Jefferies & Co. in the energy investment-banking group and has managed more than $50 billion of asset and corporate transactions for many of the world's 50 largest oil and gas companies. Marko joined Jefferies from its purchase of boutique energy asset-transaction firm Randall & Dewey Inc. Previously, he worked more than 18 years in various engineering, operations and commercial roles at Mobil Oil and was COO of energy transaction-adivsory firm Madison Energy Advisors. He is on the board of Tulane University's School of Science & Engineering.

Ken Olive, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Oil & Gas Asset Clearinghouse

Ken Olive is president and chief executive officer of The Oil & Gas Asset Clearinghouse, which he founded in 1993 and offers divestment services from live and Internet auctions to mid-value negotiated sales and fully engineered negotiated transactions. Previously, he managed onshore and offshore properties for Pennzoil, Columbia Gas Development and Case-Pomeroy Oil Corp. He has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in its Energy and Energy Services category and he has also been named Outstanding Landman by HAPL. He also received the APEX award from the AAPL for professional excellence and for entrepreneurial spirit. Olive received his BBA in Marketing from Texas Tech University.

Chip Van Os, Managing Director-Investment Banking, E&P, Raymond James & Associates

George “Chip” Van Os joined the Raymond James & Associates energy group in September 2010 and is focused on the E&P sector. Van Os has been an energy investment banker for more than 12 years and has significant experience with executing M&A, equity and debt transactions for E&P, oilfield-service and midstream companies. Prior to joining Raymond James, he was an executive director in the energy group at UBS Investment Bank, where he worked for seven years. Prior to UBS, Van Os worked for the energy groups of Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He received a BBA in accounting from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the University of Texas.

Ward Polzin, Managing Director, Head of A&D, Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Securities Inc.

Ward Polzin is a managing director in the investment-banking group and head of A&D for Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Securities Inc. A CFA charter-holder, Polzin was previously the U.S. country manager for Calgary's Enerplus Resources based in Denver and a managing director for Scotia Waterous & Co. where he led the origination, execution, negotiation and closing of public and private transactions. Polzin has a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from Rice University.

Scott Potter, Director, West Coast Region, Baker Communications; Instructor, Negotiations Training Institute

Scott Potter, director of the West Coast Region for Baker Communications, and an instructor for its Negotiations Training Institute, has more than 30 years of management and sales experience. Potter began his career in the energy industry more than 30 years ago, culminating with building and managing Aquila Energy, a multi-billion-dollar energy company. Using the knowledge and expertise gained during his tenure in the energy industry, Potter went on to direct and participate in several international projects in Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland and Sweden, ranging from directing multi-million-dollar IT projects to providing management consulting services for major corporations across the globe. Clients included Mitsui, TXU, CMS Energy, Altra Energy, and PennUnion. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.A in Business. Potter’s instruction specializes in Win Win Negotiations, Consultative Selling Skills, Managerial Coaching Skills, Energy Trading Workshops, Telephone Selling Skills, Time Management, Exceptional Presentations and Project Management.

Scott Richardson, Co-Founding Principal, RBC Richardson Barr

Scott Richardson, a co-founding principal of RBC Richardson Barr, has more than 25 years of upstream investment-banking experience. Richardson's transaction experience includes the sale of both public and private E&P companies, private and public debt transactions, fairness opinions, general advisory and asset divestitures. Richardson co-founded Richardson Barr, a predecessor firm to RBC Richardson Barr in January 2003. He earned his BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University. RBC Richardson Barr sold in excess of $6 billion in assets in 2010, including the $1.1-billion sale of Denbury Resources' Texas and Louisiana assets, the $967-million sale of Talon's Barnett assets, and the $540-million sale of Highmount's Antrim and Black Warrior assets.

Alan Smith, Chief Executive Officer, Quantum Resources Fund

Alan Smith has been chief executive officer of upstream Quantum Resources Fund since 2009. Previously, Smith was a managing director of private-equity firm Quantum Energy Partners, which funded his start-up Chalker Energy Partners LP. Before forming Chalker, Smith held various petroleum engineering and operations positions with Ocean Energy Inc., Burlington Resources Inc., Arco Oil & Gas Co. and Ryder Scott Co. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University and is on the Petroleum Advisory Board for the Texas Tech Department of Petroleum Engineering.

Charles C. Stephenson Jr., Co-founder and Chairman, Premier Natural Resources LLC

Charles Stephenson is co-founder and chairman of independent E&P Premier Natural Resources LLC, founder of Regent Private Capital and co-founder of venture-capital firm Growth Capital Partners. In 1983, he founded Vintage Petroleum Inc. and was chairman, president and chief executive, after a career with Amerada Petroleum Corp. in engineering and management, and, from 1973-1982, as an owner and president of privately held Andover Oil Co. Publicly listed Vintage grew from three people to employing more than 750 with operations in the U.S., Canada, South America and Yemen before it was acquired by Occidental Petroleum Corp. in 2006 for $4.3 billion. Stephenson received his BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an Honorary Doctorate in 2003. He is the founder of the Sarkeys Energy Center, the Stephenson Research and Technology Center and the Stephenson Life Sciences Center, all at the University of Oklahoma. He also serves on the board of trustees for the University of Tulsa.

Lisa Stewart, Chief Executive Officer, Sheridan Production Partners

Lisa Stewart co-founded and is chief executive officer of Sheridan Production Partners, which has raised more than $3 billion in equity through private placements since its formation in 2006. Previously, she was president of El Paso E&P, where she oversaw the restructuring of its business to focus on capital efficiency and returns, and its exit from international power and other non-regulated businesses. While at Apache Corp., she was executive vice president, business development and E&P services, after beginning her career there in 1984 as a reservoir engineer in the Midcontinent office and holding subsequent positions of management of the company's reserves and acquisition evaluations as well as vice president of technical services. Prior to joining Apache, Stewart was a reservoir engineer with Cities Service Oil and Gas (now Occidental Petroleum). She holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Tulsa, where she is a member of the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences' Hall of Fame.

Bobby Tudor, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. LLC

Bobby Tudor is co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer of global energy investment-banking firm Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. LLC, which was formed from the merger of Tudor Capital in 2007 with energy-research firm Pickering Energy Partners Inc. Previously, Tudor was a partner with Goldman Sachs & Co. where, during a nearly 20-year career, he worked in the New York, London and Houston offices, in varying capacities including head of the southwest region and head of the European industrial and natural-resources group. Tudor holds a BA in English and Legal Studies from Rice University and a JD from Tulane Law School.

Bill Weidner, Founder, Weidner Advisors LLC

Bill Weidner, founder of energy investment-advisory firm Weidner Advisors LLC, was previously managing director of Rodman & Renshaw LLC and head of The Rodman Energy Group. Beginning his career in energy in 1980 as a geologist, he entered energy finance as a banker and is a principal investor and financial intermediary. Previously, at energy-investment firm Cosco Capital Management LLC, which he joined in 1998 and was merged with Rodman in 2007, he led or co-led the structuring and closing of more than $850 million of financings and transactions, ranging from common equity to mezzanine debt, balance-sheet restructuring, oil- and gas-reserve monetization and corporate M&A, including one transaction as a buy-side advisor and owner on a $250-million corporate acquisition.

Harrison Williams, Executive Vice President, Albrecht & Associates Inc.

Harrison Williams, executive vice president of Albrecht & Associates Inc., was formerly assistant to the chairman at Inexco Oil Co. and began his career at Cambridge Royalty Co. in 1975. In addition to his divestiture experience, he has experience in E&P, gas storage and gas marketing. Williams holds an A.B. degree from Harvard College and an M.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been with Albrecht & Associates since 1989.
